VVDN Launches NXP i.MX 94 MPU–Based System-on-Module for Real-Time Industrial Control and Edge Applications at Embedded World 2026

VVDN Technologies, a global provider of software, product engineering, and electronics manufacturing services, has developed a new System-on-Module (SoM) based on NXP® Semiconductors’ i.MX 94 applications processor, targeting deterministic real-time control and secure industrial edge computing. VVDN launched the SoM at Embedded World 2026, Nuremburg, Germany. VVDN is one of only a few companies to offer a SOM platform based the i.MX 94 applications processor from NXP.

The NXP i.MX 94 SOC-based SoM is a compact, industrial-grade embedded computing platform designed to address the growing requirements of mission-critical industrial automation, where real-time responsiveness, reliability, and long lifecycle support are essential. Powered by NXP’s
i.MX 94 applications processor
, the module integrates the high-performance application processing with MCU-class real-time control delivered by the i.MX 94 SoC, enabling the consolidation of control and application workloads on a single platform.

Key features include Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) support, ultra-low latency operation, and rich industrial connectivity, making the SoM well suited for applications requiring precise timing and deterministic communication. The robust and space-efficient form factor is optimized for deployment in harsh industrial environments.

The platform is designed for a wide range of use cases, including industrial gateways, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), factory automation systems, motion control and robotics controllers, industrial HMIs, and smart control systems. Additional target applications include building management systems, security and surveillance, and remote I/O solutions.
